Nikki Donnelley

Nikki Donnelley is a zealous advocate for individuals coping with the impact of their criminal records, as well as those who are still behind bars. Her passion for working with people impacted by the criminal legal system began while studying public policy at DePaul University, where she studied the implications of local laws on Chicago’s residents. Notably, in 2017, Nikki successfully argued and won a petition to seal her client’s conviction for murder- one of the first of such convictions to be sealed in Illinois history. While at CGLA, Nikki co-launched a project assisting over twenty-five incarcerated survivors of domestic violence file motions to reduce their sentences after there was a change in sentencing laws, allowing domestic battery to be considered by Judges in sentencing. Rob Harrer
When a debt collector contacts you, you can contact Rob. Rob sues debt collectors and defends people against debt collection lawsuits. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates what debt collectors can and cannot do. Sometimes as little as a single letter or phone call from a debt collector can be a violation of the FDCPA. Rob sues these violators at no cost to his clients. If he wins, the debt collector must pay Rob’s costs and fees. Rob is often able to settle cases and have the debt deleted, negative collection information removed from the credit report, and monetary damages awarded to his clients. Rob also defends people being sued by debt collectors. For defense cases, he charges a modest flat fee. When defending against collection lawsuits, Rob looks for FDCPA violations to turn the tables on the debt collector. Rob’s practice focuses solely on the FDCPA and collection defense.
